DATA 3-month stock chart

Buy

DataTrak has been on a year-long downtrend (see sidebar) that appears to have bottomed in May and re-tested in June. Since then the chart is showing increased strength. It is now trading above the 50-day moving average, which is rising.

  • Price momentum (PPO) — sharply increasing
  • Trend (ADX) — buying pressure (+DI) recently crossed over selling pressure (-DI)
  • Money flow (CMF) — negative but improving
  • Relative strength (RSI) — improving from negative to neutral
  • Volume — weak

Although I attempted to buy a full lot of 500 shares, I only got 100 before I was out-bid.

Well. DATA was supposed to retreat to the 1-month moving average and then rebound. Didn't work that way. The 50-day moving average turned down last week and it's now pretty clear that the downtrend is still in place. I put in an order to close my entire position at $6.80. Thankfully, this first lot of 100 shares sold at that price.
