IPAS stock chart

Buy

With my earlier lot of IPAS up more than 10%, I decided to add another lot to my position. It has pulled back from the recent high, but I think the pull back stopped today. Although it traded lower overall, IPAS recovered from a large drop during the session to end near the open.

  • Price momentum (PPO) — very strong, but may be slowing a bit
  • Trend (ADX) — below the threshhold, but buying pressure (+DI) is holding above selling pressure (-DI)
  • Money flow (CMF) — strongly positive
  • Relative strength (RSI) — strong, if a bit overbought
  • Volume — up-days have been well above average daily volume

IPAS has been very good for the bottom line of my portfolio. IPAS set another new 52-week high yesterday and the uptrend is unmistakably clear (see sidebar). However, I decided to sell today. IPAS has been marching up the upper Bollinger band for the past two weeks, and that is statistically very unlikely to continue. Further, the new high was set on a down-day, and today's session traded lower still. These are frequently a sign of an impending reversal or consolidation period. Hence, I chose to lock in profits.
