TIBX stock chart

Buy

Although the price of TIBCO is a bit below the price I paid for an earlier lot (25-Jul-05), I decided to redeploy cash from other positions closed today into another lot of TIBX. It's not the strongest chart in my portfolio, but it seems that a brief pullback has ended with a bounce off the 50-day moving average two days ago. There is still more than another month before the next earnings report.

  • Price momentum (PPO) — stabilizing with the bounce
  • Trend (ADX) — weakening, but buying pressure (+DI) is picking up again after the bounce
  • Money flow (CMF) — becoming more negative during the pull-back
  • Relative strength (RSI) — gaining strength again after brief decline
  • Volume — down-days have been on less than average volume.

TIBX has made me nervous since it tested the $8.50 level last week and failed to continue the advance. Although it may just be touching-up with the moving averages, I don't want to take a chance, so I closed all my positions this morning when it traded below $8.

I made respectable profits on the first two lots (10% and 7% respectively), but took a small loss (-2%) on the third lot, resulting in a modest overall profit.
