Buy. I bought my first lot of Apple in March when it was pulling back from a new peak. As usual, I bought AAPL about a week too soon. After it recovered I then bought another lot.
For a brief shining moment in April when AAPL announced its earnings and reported strong results for its iTunes venture, it looked like I was going to have apple pie instead of lemonade. But then the price started falling again. Since the price was well above the 50-day moving average, which was rising steadily, I held fast. Although AAPL did break under the 50-day average, it recovered again and hugged the average as it continued to climb.
Sell. AAPL is one of the few stocks that did not sell last week as a result of the trailing stop I put on it before leaving for Hawaii. However, I decided to sell today when I saw that prices were falling for the second day in a row. Furthermore, the peak this week was not as high as the previous peak and volumes have fallen off. Thinking this could be the start of a new down trend I decided to cash in while there was cash to be had.
