Grand Marnier mixed-berry sauce

A quick topping for French toast or ice-cream or cheesecake.

  • 12 oz pkg frozen mixed berries, unsweetened
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 2 Tbsp Grand Marnier (or other orange liqueur)
  • ———
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch

Put all the ingredients, except cornstarch, in a heavy saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer and cook for about 10 minutes.

Stir in the cornstarch and cook until slightly thickened. It will thicken some more after coming off the heat so don't worry if it looks a bit runny.

Note: To avoid lumps, sift the cornstarch onto the surface, rather than just dumping it in.

Yield: 2 cups
