Barbequed tri-tip
Grill over low heat and let rest for juicy, tender meat.
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- ———
- tri-tip roast, approx 2½ to 3 lb, trimmed of fat
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
Combine dry ingredients in a small bowl.
Drizzle tri-tip with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic-powder mixture, pressing to adhere.
Grill 5 minutes per side over medium heat.
Lower heat to low, and grill an additional 30 minutes, covered, turning every 10 minutes. Medium doneness will register 140° when thermometer is inserted into thickest part of meat.
Let rest at least 10 minutes, then slice thinly across the grain.
Servings: 6-8
