bloody mary
I might have gone overboard on the garnishes

Bloody Marys by the pitcher

These bloodies have a nice fresh taste from the lime juice and are spicy without being overly so. It's all a matter of taste, of course, and, to me, these taste good.

  • 6 limes, juiced
  • 1 Tbsp celery seeds
  • 3 Tbsp prepared horseradish
  • 2 qts tomato juice
  • 1 Tbsp tabasco
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 6 grinds black pepper
  • 1 1/2 c vodka

Tip: start with chilled juice and vodka.

Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir to mix well. Chill for at least two hours to allow the flavors to marry.

Serve over ice in a tall glass with choice of garnishes: olives, slices of lemon or lime, celery stalk, chilled cooked shrimp, etc.

Servings: 6 with refills
