Seasoned oyster crackers
I was very dubious about this recipe when I first saw it, thinking that putting what amounts to salad dressing on oyster crackers would likely end up with mush. To my surprise, it makes a very tasty nibble for a party.
- 3/4 cup canola oil
- 1 pkg (1-oz) powdered ranch salad dressing mix
- 1/2 tsp lemon pepper seasoning
- ———
- 1 box oyster crackers (about 6 cups)
Whisk together first three ingredients in a large bowl.
Add the oyster crackers and toss to coat well.
Spread crackers on a triple-thickness of paper towls to absorb excess oil, and let stand 30 minutes. Transfer to an airtight container and let stand at room temperature at least 8 hours to develop flavors.
Said to keep up to a week, but I doubt they would remain uneaten that long!
