Making merry
Christmas Chez Paul
26-Dec-06. Deck the halls and fire up the stove — it was my turn to host Christmas dinner. This year I really got into the Christmas spirit, for a change. After a hiatus of many years, I even put up a Christmas tree!
The weather was so spectacularly nice we had cocktails on the patio. And the good news is, nobody dropped one of Réal's never-used-before Waterford crystal champagne flutes.
As usual, we all contributed to dinner. Réal brought appetizers, Ken made his now-famous twice-baked potatoes (this time with added enhancements), and Phil brought, by popular demand, classic green bean casserole. I made a standing rib roast and, for dessert, a bûche de noel.
After dinner, we watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding, which kept us all in stitches. What a great movie!
Alas, Bob was away and couldn't join us this year. Well, he'd better not miss next year!
